Moving Forward

Good Morning Friends,

I am back into weight loss mode. For several months that mindset alluded me. I was so excited to have reached my first goal that I relaxed and "enjoyed the view".  However, something in my mind shifted this last weekend. I knew it was time to lose those last 30+ pounds and I dont want them finding me again. I gain weight easily so I must stay vigilant in my nutrition. Its hard bc I LOVE food. Did you ever watch "Friends"? I love food like Joey did but I will share!!

Auggie is doing well. He still pulls on the leash but we are planning to get him a harness to help deter him plus I am working with him on the focus command. The key is to distract him from whatever it is that has grabbed his attention. He is doing ok with it. It's just going to take time and consistency. Here is a pic of Auggie just bc he is so cute

Until next week

Happy Birthday to me

Yesterday was my 51st birthday. It was a low key quiet type of day. Spend most of the afternoon with my mom and husband just talking then went to dinner with several of my friends. I am incredibly blessed. Honestly I could not ask for anything more than to be surrounded by family and friends.  We ate a local pizzeria and the food was phenomenal and the service was top notch. I dont go there often bc it is laden with fat and calories but for my birthday I chose to enjoy. Speaking of food choices, I am still doing well with my lifestyle change. I am maintaining my 80+ loss and my goal is to lose about 35 more. I have added crunches to my routine to try to flatten my stomach just a bit. It seems that is where my weight tends to be. I would be happy with my current weight if my stomach was flatter. I would be able to get into smaller clothes as well. I pray everyone has a great weekend.

Enjoying the "View"

Good Morning,

I just wanted to share that I am in a pause right now concerning my weight loss. What I mean by that is I'm enjoying where I am at in this journey. I am maintaining the loss and I am not regaining the weight. I am staying under 200 pounds. I am ok with that for now. I'm focusing on healthier choices and better mindset. This is a lifelong process and I'm learning a lot.  I've gained so much the last several months. I've gained confidence, higher self esteem,  a new outlook on life and more. If you are interested about my journey, please reach out to me.

Auggie

 Good morning,

I just want to quickly share our story of how we got our dog. Through our entire marriage, I have been pining away for a dog. But bc of different circumstances, the timing was never right. However, in 2020 I told my husband that I wanted a dog for my 50th bday, which is in April. We began checking sites and could not agree upon which dog. in November 2020, we saw a dog listed on Petfinders.com that we both feel in love with. We debated about the timing and the added expense but in the end we took the plunge. On November 24th 2020(although my 50th was not until April 2021), we drove 2 hours upstate to adopt "Bernie". We quickly changed his name to Auggie.  At the time of adoption the shelter and vet estimated him to be "around" 1 year old.

When we got home, I sat on the couch and Auggie jumped up, sat right beside me and leaned in like he was giving a hug. We have been best buds since.

Actually, he is my hero. He literally saved my life 4 weeks after adopting him. Long story short, I had become unresponsive and he alerted my husband who ended up calling 911. My electrolytes were dangerously low and Ii had an undetected UTI. I was in the hospital for 3 days.

Auggie has made our family complete. He has a quirky personality and loves food. He is quite stubborn and strong willed. We are working with him but he is a bit reactive to things and people he does not know. We still have a long to go but we have also come a long way.

He has his own facebook page "Auggie the Doggie"

Here are a few of my favorite pictures
