Eggtastic

My Mom and I color eggs every Easter. The only time we did not was during the Covid quarantine. Usually, we have a terrible time peeling them afterwards. Well, I have found the perfect way to boil and get perfectly peeled eggs

Step 1
Bring water to a slow boil(yes, wait until water is boiling)
Step 2
Place eggs in the boiling water
Step 3
Boil for 12 to 15 minutes
Step 4
Take eggs out and put them in a ice water bath
Step 5
Let then sit for 5 minutes at least
Step 6
Peel under running water

I was a little hesitate as first. I though the egg would explode being put directly in hot water. They did not unless they already had a crack in them. then they just leak. The science behind this is that the extreme hot causes the whites to set then the cold helps separate the membrane for the shell.

I love boiled eggs but i avoided at times bc they were so hard to peel. Now I have the perfect way to cook them. Thank you ChatGPT

Do you have a perfect way that works every time for you. Id love to hear about it

Have a great weekend

Friday Challenge

As I was reading my Bible this morning, this verse really spoke to me

Romans 12:15 NKJV

[15] Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

How often do we try to "fix" a broken situation? How often do we tell people to "move on" or "get over it"? How often do we give cliche answers when someone is dealing with grief, anxiety or depression?

Even Jesus wept with Martha and Mary concerning their brother who had died.

John 11:35-36 NKJV

[35] Jesus wept. [36] Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

As Christians, we need to just sit next to hurting people and weep with them; not make them feel guilty bc they are hurting.

I challenge you today to refrain from giving the "right" answers and just weep with those who are weeping. Sometimes that is the Godly thing to do.

God Bless

Disappointment

Since I've started reblogging, I have lost a follower. That makes me sad.

Can you do me a favor? Even if you do not comment, can you please follow my blog?

It would really encourage me.

Thanks

Auggie's Story

I'll try to make this short. i have loved dogs as far back as I can remember. When my beautiful Dove passed, I was heartbroken. Well I finally convinced Bob that I wanted a dog for my 50th birthday. We began looking in October or so of 2020. My 50th was April the following years. We have declining by many dogs, "Bernie's" popped up and we fell in love. I filled out an application and was approved. We drove 2 hours one way to pick up this medium size dog. He was only 42 pounds. The very first night we I sat on the couch, he sat next to me and leaned into me like he was giving a hug. Of course, we changed his name immediately. We did NOT like the name Bernie. So we decided to call him Auggie. This is short for August which is the month Bob and I met. Auggie is spoiled, vocal, opinionated and super affectionate.....to me. He does not like other people and is very territorial around our condo. The shelter lied to us though. Auggie is very high energy. At least for the 1st three years. After that he seemed to mature a little. Now that Auggie is almost 7 years old, I am seeing another shift, he is not as reactive to people like he used to be and he calmer on walks as well.

One story that i like to tell is the fact that Auggie literally saved my life. Newsweek did an online story about  it that you can read here

The link I provided didn't work. I will try again. This link should work

I consider him my hero

If you like to follow him, he has his own Facebook page. Its called Auggie the Doggie and has the following picture as his profile pic

Auggie is truly one of a kind. Im going to add a few pictures for you to enjoy.

I want to shout out to Alyssa and Deno Romero for watching Auggie when we need to be away; to Dr Troy Winn and staff at Mt. Holly Veterinary Clinic and keeping Auggie healthy and Michelle Rodriquez in teaching me how to train  and manage Auggies behavior

DO you have pets you'd like to showcase? Id love to hear about them
